We had a first today...

Today john campbell ate real food for the first time!  And what was his very first taste of food you ask???  A cooked egg yolk.....mmmm:)  He wasn't sure what to make of it.  He just kept sort of pushing it around in his mouth.  The big kids were sweet and just had to watch.  Ben said "He's getting so big!"...it was sweet.  I will post some pictures of it soon but i am too tired to dump the pictures in.

On a side note I cut my hair....not just cut it....I chopped it off!!!!  And i love it!!!  

Today

We had a good day today.  The big kids went to mothers-day-out so i was able to clean up the house pretty good since john campbell took a great nap.  Then he and i went to a friend's house for lunch with some other girls and that was really nice.  It's always good to have some adult conversation!  This evening we had ben's soccer practice...which makes me think about his first game last saturday.  He did AWESOME!  He didn't score a goal.....he scored 3!!!  He was so excited....and i have to admit when he scored his first goal i got a little emotional.  He ran over and gave me a high five...he was precious.  I'm so glad that he had a great time.  Something that cracked me up was at the beginning of the game he ran over to me and said "Mama, i almost scored a shot...but that red team's really good."  Yeah...that 2 foot tall red team were a bunch of powerhouses:)

The other day millie showed mike and i her arm and said "Look at my brains."  She kept saying it until we figured out she meant her "veins"....she's awesome.

Mike is home now so i finally have the pictures from the grammy's.  It was a wonderful weekend!  We all flew out to los angeles saturday morning.  Mike and i took john campbell with us so kiki came along to watch him at the hotel.  He was a trooper with all the traveling.  Saturday night the whole band "family"  went to dinner and then to the nomination party where the guys got their medals.  The next morning we were up bright and early to get our hair and make-up done.  TIGI/BedHead sent the sweetest people to take care of us!   Around 12pm we headed out to the pre-show and were so bummed that the guys didn't win!  We still had a great night though...it is so surreal to walk the red carpet!  After the show we went to the grammy after party but we didn't stay too long....i think we are all getting old!  We all wanted in-n-out before leaving CA so we all went and chowed down before heading back to the hotel.  It was the perfect ending to an amazing night!!!

Good to be home

Well we got back from the grammy's on monday and i feel like we have been going non-stop since then.  I am going to post all about our wonderful weekend but mike has the camera with all the pictures so i am going to wait on that.  

I am going to keep ben and millie home from mothers-day-out tomorrow because the flu and all sorts of stuff is running rampant here.  I'm a little bummed they will have to miss their valentine's party but I don't want to risk them bringing something home to john campbell.

My little sweetheart is a little snotty so please pray that he would get to feeling better and that it would just be a cold.

Today when we were outside...it was a perfect day....ben said he needed some fresh air because it heals his body....he kills me!

So today ben peed in millie's pretend coffee pot and then poured it into her pretend microwave....i don't even know how to respond to that:)

We have had a great couple of days.  John Campbell is doing great and doesn't want to nap as much so i know he is feeling better!  Mike had a meeting most of the day yesterday so the kids and i hung out at the house.  We got to really play some while cam slept.  They like to set up this pop up fire truck we have and then we all had to carry a lunch box around which ben called our "luggage".  Millie said she had pistachios in hers and showed me where she was going to put the peels...pistachios...hilarious.  

Our tv is getting repaired so the other day when i came around the corner i found ben in the entertainment center.  Millie got in soon after and Mike said he was going to watch American Idol so the kids shut the doors on the tv cabinet and would push them open and start singing....then of course ben had to get his guitar and millie had to get some shades.  And then they HAD to do bible study in the cabinet too.  

Ben just recently started to play soccer!  He has only had one practice and our friend jake is the coach and his little girl eva is on the team too.  Ben LOVED practice.  He was so excited and when we were leaving he had to make sure that they were going to have it again the next week.  When we were headed home he was trying to tell me something about jake and he said "pastor...uh..pastor..."  and i said you mean "coach jake"...and he said "yeah"....he couldn't remember "coach".

Also the other day we were checking the mail and there was a lot when we opened it up and ben said "Holy Shnikeys!"....i laughed so hard!

Today was a very special day too.  It was "Girl's Day" for millie and I.  We went to stonebriar and did some shopping.  She got to ride the carousel, get a cookie, bought a dress and some sparkly shoes, got to pick out a necklace and earrings from sam moon, and picked where we ate supper...which was macaroni grill so she could have mac n' cheese!  She was so funny...we kept saying "boys are stinky...ewww....girl's day!"  She thought that was great!  It was wonderful to have some one on one time with her.  Mike got to stay home with the boys and he said they had a good day too.

Since john campbell has rsv we scheuchzers partied alone for the superbowl.  It was hilarious watching ben and millie eat their superbowl "sundaes" and to hear millie cheering loudly for the "steemers"!  If she hollered for them once she did it a thousand times!  We were cracking up.  It was a good finish to a challenging day with her.  I admit i left the garbage disposal running a little longer than necessary to drown out her "whys" at one point.  She is so funny sometimes and she doesn't even mean to be.  The other night when i told her to go to her room and get in the bed she said "Awww nuts!  That stinks!".  

John Campbell seemed better today.  He has been such a trooper through this crummy thing.  I have been taking some garlic to try and get that in him since i am nursing.  We noticed his breath smelled like garlic yesterday mid-morning and we were amazed that the garlic was that potent.  Then later that day when i was giving him his supplements and it was time for the vitamin C  i got mike to get the camera to take a picture of the funny face he makes, only this time he started crying.  I told mike that he doesn't usually cry when he has to take it.  Shortly thereafter i realized that i wasn't giving him vitamin C but crushed up garlic!!! Loser mom! No wonder he smelled like lasagna!  Poor baby....we are back to vitamin C now:)

Millie got some pink barbie roller skates from the cochrans for her birthday and the past two days ben has had them on every chance he has gotten!  He and millie scoot all over the house in them.  Mike locked the wheels on them so that only one wheel actually rolls but they are loving them!  Ben cracks me up in his lightening mcqueen pajamas and barbie skates.

Me, mike, and john campbell are suppose to go the grammy's this weekend but i am playing it by ear at this point.  I really want to go if cam is well but i hate the thought of being on a plane

which is so germ infested with a baby who just got over rsv....what to do what to do!

Sometimes i feel like the days are flying by....I feel like i just got up and now i am getting ready for bed.  I was feeding john campbell tonight while i watched ben roller skate and it seems like i was just cradling ben in my arms a few days ago.  I can't believe he is 4.  My precious babies...you will be 18 years old before i know it...i hope there is not one moment where you are not treasured.  I am so grateful that the Lord allows me to be your mommy.

They make me smile:)

Mike brought me home a piece of tiramisu the other day and i let ben have a few bites...when i came back in the kitchen this is what he was doing!
